A boy who was left with brain damage after being starved of oxygen at birth has been awarded millions of pounds in compensation.
The High Court heard the 11-year-old, who cannot be named for legal reasons, suffered asphyxia while being delivered at Queen's Medical Centre, Nottingham.
He developed cerebral palsy and severe disabilities as a result. Judge Patrick Moloney QC has ordered Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust to pay £2.72m.
The trust - which settled with the family to pay 80% of the claim - must also pay him £60,000 a year until he reaches 19 years old, which then increases to £102,000 a year for the rest of his life.

The Met Office has issued another yellow weather warning for ice.
The warning will remain in place until 11:00 tomorrow because patches of ice will develop tonight, which could lead to further travel disruption and tricky driving conditions.
It will be a cold and cloudy start tomorrow with rain expected through late morning into the afternoon but there is a chance of some bright spells later on.

Police could get new powers to tackle the problem of so-called boy racers in Ashfield.
A consultation's being launched over plans to hand out fines to offenders because car cruising is a particular problem near the M1 junction 27 and the Hucknall bypass.
The issue is currently being tackled by Nottinghamshire Police who are enforcing an injunction obtained by Nottinghamshire County Council.
But that injunction, which prohibits car cruising in these areas, expires in January.
Ashfield District Council is looking to create an order which will give police the powers to fine those who cause a nuisance.
A consultation will last just over five weeks meaning a new order could come into force early in the new year.
