BBC NewsA woman remains in a critical condition after a gas explosion at a house in Allington Drive yesterday.
Two men were also injured in the blast - one is in hospital in a stable condition and the other has been discharged.
Charnwood Borough Council said a "handful" of families spent last night in temporary accommodation.
The explosion happened at about 07:30 when two houses collapsed, one completely and one partially, and between 30 and 50 others were damaged.
A Just Giving page, which was set up to support affected families, has raised more than £2,800 so far.
The borough council said it was unclear whether some families will be allowed back in their homes before Christmas.
