    Health bosses in Derbyshire are considering opening creches for nursing staff across the county to help them recruit more workers.

    The move is among the options being considered by Derbyshire Community Health Services NHS Foundation Trust as it works to plug a shortfall of 400 nurses.

    The trust said it wanted to make roles more flexible to take into account the work/life balance for staff.

    Amanda Rawlings, who is helping to draw up a new People Strategy, said: "As a trust we operate out of more than 100 locations across the county and could look into introducing creches to some of these, if that would help retain or bring in more staff.

    "The NHS as a whole does have an issue with the gap between people leaving and joining, which isn't huge in Derbyshire or within our trust, but there are 400 open positions for nurses Derbyshire-wide."

    It would seem the East Midlands is quite a "hipster" place to live - with Nottingham, Leicester and Derby all featuring in the latest "Hipster Index".

    The index was compiled by MoveHub, external, who looked at 446 cities across 20 countries. The number of vegan cafes, tattoo studios, vintage boutiques and coffee shops were all taken into account.

    Nottingham was crowned the 57th most hipster city - that's a higher ranking than London and New York.

    Leicester took 217th place followed by Derby in 263rd place.

    A man who raped a sex worker in Bradford and then went on the run to Germany has been jailed for eight years today.

    Miroslav Cicak, 24 of Stubley Lane, Dronfield attacked the woman in Girlington in April 2014 - He walked with his victim to a car park where he asked her for sex, pulled a knife out and raped her.

    An appeal was made on TV show Crimewatch to track Cicak down and in August 2017 a European Arrest Warrant was issued after it became apparent he left the country.

    Three years after the attack officers found him in Germany and he was arrested and brought back to the UK.

    He will now serve his sentence before being deported to Slovakia.

    Two men have been arrested and five potential victims identified as part of an investigation into an alleged prostitution ring.

    Police said two suspected brothels in Violet Street, Normanton, and Uttoxeter New Road, Derby, were visited this morning along with flats at Station Court, Burton.

    One man was arrested in Burton while a second man was detained at the Uttoxeter New Road house.

    The pair, aged 32 and 27, were arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to traffic with a view to exploitation and are in custody ahead of questioning.

    The number of people claiming Jobseekers Allowance in Derby has risen by 23% in the last six months to 3,275 - its highest level in three years.

    In some areas, like the Arboretum ward of the city, the proportion of people claiming out-of-work benefits has risen by 38% in that time.

    Nationally, the JSA claimant rate in England increased by 13% over the same period.
