    BBC Radio Derby

Derbyshire Fire and Rescue Service says the past fortnight has been among the "most challenging" it has ever faced.

Ten different crews from around the county are still assisting with efforts to bring moorland fires in the Peak District under control and the service has asked people to do their bit in the hot weather to keep call-outs to a minimum.

Group manager Rob Taylor said: "There's still more work to be done.

"We're using about 60 firefighters a day and it's hot, arduous work with long travel distances to get to where the fires are actually at."

Some of the stones have been found as far away as America and Australia.

He said: "We absolutely understand most of you just want to watch the football and have a good time and hope and pray that England will win.

“So please look after your mates, please don’t drink more than you can deal with and please, when you’re going home, let’s go home pretty sensibly and so we can get ready to hopefully celebrate the final”.

More than £10m is to go towards setting up new churches in Leicestershire and Nottinghamshire by the Church of England.

The church said it wants to "revive Christian faith in market towns and on housing estates" and money will also be spent on expanding existing churches to add more people to their congregation.

In Leicestershire, the Church of England is planning to establish 20-50 new "worshipping communities" and increase the size of existing churches to accommodate 1,400 people.

    Leicester church

In the Southwell and Nottinghamshire Diocese the plan is to develop four churches and 75 "new worshipping communities" by 2023.

The Bishop of Leicester, the Right Reverend Martyn Snow, welcomed the news and said: "Through them we hope to bless our communities and see God’s Kingdom grow, especially in better serving and reaching the 93% of people who are not currently part of any Christian community."
