    A source of ochre causing the discolouring of the River Derwent was stopped over the weekend.

    The Environment Agency has said it's not aware of any impact to the river.

    A motorcyclist who died in a crash with a lorry on the A6 Alvaston bypass has been named by police, external.

    Jack Gray, from Chaddesden, died in hospital following the crash at about 12:30 on 11 October.

    In a brief statement, his family said: "We as a family are more than devastated. We would like privacy at this difficult time."

    Police said they wanted to hear from any witnesses or drivers with dashcam footage.

    Ilkeston is preparing to say goodbye to William 'Harry' Hardy, Britain's oldest football referee, following his death last month at the age of 91.

    Mr Hardy began overseeing matches in 1959 and continued until the age of 88.

    His funeral is due to take place at St Mary's Church in Ilkeston at 13:00 and his son, Chris, said anyone was welcome to attend.

    He told BBC Radio Derby: "The more the merrier. It's going to be a celebration.

    "People are welcome to come in anything - traditional black or football shirts. He wouldn't mind and we certainly don't."

    Broadcaster Simon Mayo has announced he is leaving BBC Radio 2.

    The 60-year-old, who started his career at BBC Radio Nottingham, has presented the Drivetime programme for eight years but the addition of Jo Whiley as a co-presenter in June led to a backlash from listeners.

    Mayo said he was sad to be leaving but had numerous projects that would be keeping him busy next year.

    Jo Whiley is to move to the 7-9 slot, while Mayo will continue presenting his 5 Live film show with Mark Kermode.

    A 32-year-old woman was punched "several times" in the face during an altercation with another woman in Derby, police said.

    The alleged assault took place at the junction of Upper Moor Road and Penalton Close at about 15:30 on 11 October.

    The woman told police she had been pushed in the chest and forced into the road before being hit in the face a number of times.

    Neither woman required treatment and no arrests have been made.

    Jonathan Hopkin said his wife found the ring on the floor of Arnold Way about three years ago.

    At the time the couple were about to have a baby and didn't get around to putting out an appeal.

    Now they have it's been shared by nearly 8,000 people on Twitter.

    Jonathan told the BBC: "My wedding ring means so much to me I'd love to get it back to whose it was."

    He said the blast knocked over cabinets and units in his flat. He’s waiting to find when the building will be safe enough for him to return. He’s being rehoused tonight at least.

    Over-running engineering works have caused train delays between the East Midlands and London.

    The work was not completed on time at Market Harborough early this morning meaning the line was shut between Leicester and Kettering.

    East Midlands Trains said it has now reopened the route but there are "residual delays" between the East Midlands and London as well as some services to Sheffield.

    A pedestrian was injured in a suspected road rage attack in Sutton-in-Ashfield at the weekend, police said.

    The man was taken to the Queen's Medical Centre after he was injured at about 19:00 on Saturday on the A611 at the junction with Balls Lane. His injuries are not thought to be life threatening.

    Officers are appealing for help and are keen to trace a dark coloured 4x4 vehicle, possibly a Vauxhall.

    Derbyshire police said the investigation into the explosion at Spondon Post Office is "in the early stages".

    A spokeswoman said: "Officers were called to the Post Office on Chapel Street in Spondon this morning to reports of an explosion.

    "On arrival it was found that an attempt to steal the ATM machine had been made."

    Lots of people, including children on their way to school, are stopping to look at the dramatic scene at Spondon Post Office.

    Businesses near the explosion are opening as normal, including a small Co-Op and a cafe, where people are sat outside watching police activity in and around the cordon.

    One coffee drinker told me it was “very shocking” and “not the sort of thing you normally see round here”.

    Another cafe visitor said he’s surprised the blast did not cause more damage to buildings either side of the post office.

    A 30-year-old man has been summoned to court in connection with the theft of a Rolf Harris painting.

    The artwork was stolen along with a TV from a house in Campbell Grove, St Ann's, at some time between 25 September and 9 October.

    The limited edition print named Hamersley Red Rocks, was originally bought for around £1,500 and includes a certificate of authenticity.
