    A police officer has said they are not sure what sort of explosive was used in a raid on the Post Office in Spondon.

    People walking past have been shocked at the damage.

    Debris is spread over a wide area and the cash machine is lying on the floor in front of the shop.

    It's thought thieves were attempting to steal the contents of the cash machine.

    There's been an explosion at the Post Office in Chapel Street, Spondon in the early hours of this morning.

    Derbyshire Constabulary said officers were called at about 04:45 but no further details have yet been given.

    There are not thought to have been any serious injuries.
