    Tonight will be a dry and fairly mild night with some clear spells for a time.

    However, areas of low cloud, mist and fog are likely to become more extensive later in the night with gentle winds.

    Tomorrow morning will be rather cloudy and misty with some early fog in places.

    However, it should brighten-up in places in the afternoon in what will be a very mild day for November.

    A 34-year-old man has died following a two-vehicle crash in Etwall this morning.

    Stuart Simmonds, of Ashbourne, was pronounced dead at the scene after the smash at about 05:50 at the junction of Heage Lane and Radbourne Lane, Etwall.

    Police, fire and ambulance services all attended.

    Homebase in Nottingham is to close in a month.

    The Queen's Drive shop was not on the original list of stores that were earmarked for closure but the firm revealed today that it is to go.

    The DIY store, recently voted the worst online retailer in the UK, said it is keeping its other stores in the East Midlands.

    The 110ft ferris wheel in Jubilee Square is ready for its opening day.

    The Wheel of Light opens at noon on Friday and will be in Jubilee Square until 7 January, open every day except Christmas Day and New Year’s Day.

    A fire at a horse riding school in Duckmanton has badly damaged a barn containing hay bales, but no horses or staff were injured.

    Firefighters were called to attend the blaze at Poplar Farm Riding School at 13:18 today.

    A spokesman for the riding school said: "Only the barn itself has been damaged, where the hay bales are kept.

    "Everyone's fine, no people or horses were injured."

    Emergency services attended the scene after getting a call just before 06:00 this morning.

    A Chesterfield restaurant will be opening its doors to the homeless and lonely for the fourth year in a row this Christmas Day.

    As reported by the Derbyshire Times, external, Einstein's, in Hollywell Street, has been offering free Christmas dinners to the needy since opening in 2015.

    Duty manager Ellie Wainwright said: "The owner hates seeing people lonely on Christmas and the feeling of helping people at that time of year is just amazing."

    In addition to a free meal, volunteer staff are also on hand to chat to diners who would otherwise spend Christmas alone.

    City Taxis will also be providing free travel to those with mobility issues.

    Fire crews are currently tackling a large barn fire in Duckmanton.

    Firefighters were called to attend the incident at 13:18 today, with a barn measuring 20 by 10m alight.

    Station manager Colin Winterbottom said: “Whilst we are dealing with a large barn fire, firefighters have been successful in controlling the fire and prevent it spreading to any vehicles and buildings on the site."

    The fire is expected to burn into the early hours and nearby residents are being advised to keep their windows and doors closed.

    Fire crews are in attendance at a barn fire in Duckmanton.

    The fire is in the 20m by 10m building and the blaze can be seen from the M1.

    Derbyshire Fire and Rescue tweeted: "Crews are still fire fighting and this incident will be ongoing until at least the earlier hours of tomorrow morning."
