    Leicestershire Police are searching for a man they believe may be in Birmingham.

    Harjit Singh Sangha, from Hamilton, Leicester, was reported missing by his family on 22 December.

    He was last seen in the Perry Barr area of Birmingham that afternoon and police believe he may still be there.

    The death of Winton the bonobo at Twycross Zoo is particularly poignant because of how rare they are.

    The great apes are endangered and in 2015, we reported that the zoo is the only one in the UK to successfully breed them.

    The BBC also reported that Winton's little sister was born through the zoo's breeding programmes.

    Images of jewellery which was stolen following a burglary, external have been released by police in a bid to find those responsible.

    The items were taken when a house in Whitecotes Close, Chesterfield, was broken into between 14:30 and 15:20 on Tuesday 11 December.

    In the Premier League, Leicester City host Manchester City and will be looking to avenge their League Cup defeat from less than a week ago.

    In the Championship, Derby County travel to Sheffield United, while Nottingham Forest will look to keep pace with the play-off teams with a win over high-flying Norwich at Carrow Road.

    Twycross Zoo has announced the death of one its much-loved bonobos, also called pygmy chimpanzees.

    In a tweet, external, they said eight-year-old Winton died yesterday from what is believed to be a "respiratory outbreak" that has affected the zoo's bonobo group.

    The zoo said: "Winton was a playful, cheeky and lovable member of the group and a much-admired big brother.

    "He will be sadly missed by all."

    The zoo said a full post-mortem examination is taking place to confirm the cause of Winton's death.

    A drinks business says its trade has grown by 40% over the past year as a result of sales across the world.

    Belvoir Fruit Farms, based at Bottesford, between Grantham and Nottingham, produces a range of drinks and has been sending them out as far as Australia and the northern parts of Canada.

    Company director Lee Hemmings says the firm's seen "record growth in exports...in all corners of the globe".

    Police have issued an appeal for information, external after a man was kicked in the face by someone walking past him.

    The victim was in Narborough Road, Leicester, at about 13:00 on 12 November when the "unprovoked attack" occurred.

    He suffered injuries which required hospital treatment but has since been discharged.

    Police have today released CCTV images of a man they want to speak to about the theft of a car from a Nottingham car park.

    The white Audi was reported stolen from the NCP car park in Mount Street at about 15:50 on 20 November.

    Concerns are growing for missing 14-year-old Tyler Palmer-Andrews, who was last seen in Belper at about 21:15 on Saturday.

    The use of drones is a hot topic at the moment and Leicestershire Police have said they had complaints on Saturday about a drone being flown close to people's homes in the village of Cadeby.

    Some residents told police it was following them while they were walking their dogs.

    Officers from Market Bosworth wrote on their Facebook page, external that one woman on her own said the drone followed her for "some time" which they described as "very unnerving and upsetting for her".

    Leicestershire Police did not have any more information on these drone complaints.

    However, it is illegal to fly a drone within 50 metres of people and private property, and 150 metres from congested areas.

    A 38-year-old man from Forest Fields has been charged with attempted murder after a 40-year-old man was attacked in Cairncross Road, Bilborough, at about 21:00 on Thursday.

    He suffered slash wounds and was treated in hospital before being discharged.

    The charged man is due before magistrates in Nottingham today.

    The second man, a 19-year-old, has been released on police bail pending further enquiries.

    Concerns are growing for 16-year-old Nikita Foster-Jordan, who has been missing since last week.

    Police said she was last seen at 11:00 on Thursday in Mansfield.
