Plans are being drawn up for what Nottingham City Council could have to respond to if there was a no-deal Brexit.
The Labour-run authority, which has previously said it supports staying in the EU, has looked at the risks it feels may occur if the UK leaves without a deal on Friday, 29 March.
It says there is a high level of community cohesion in the city, and there is no specific intelligence to suggest Nottingham is particularly prone to civil unrest.
In the run up to 29 March - when the UK is expected to leave - the council has been asked by the government to send updates on how its Brexit preparations are going. More frequent reports would also be sent after 29 March, which the council says could be on a '24/7 basis'.
The council's preparations will then be tested against the government's "reasonable worst-case scenarios".
Risks analysed by the council include include: "An increase in hate crime", "civil unrest" and increases in homelessness and demand for asylum support.
