Heavy delays are expected on the M1 this morning following the crash in the early hours.
Traffic information company Inrix says that the queues are stretching back past Junction 29 and as you can see from the photo below, it is bumper-to-bumper traffic.

The M1 southbound is closed this morning following a crash involving two cars and a lorry between J28 and J27.
The road is expected to be closed for a number of hours as a result of the crash, which happened at about 03:00.
A woman has been taken to hospital with what police believe to be serious injuries.
