    A Met Police spokesman said the man had been arrested in Leicester and remains in custody.

    Two men approached him at around 19:30 in Melbourne Road, Aspley, and demanded he hand over his belongings before assaulting him and fleeing towards Nuthall Road.

    His injuries are not believed to be life-threatening or life-altering.

    The Foxes have announced they made a profit of £1.6m for the year ending May 2018.

    Turnover for the year was £158.9m with gate receipts of £12.9m.

    The previous year, the club posted record profits of £92.5m, owed in no small part to their lucrative UEFA Champions League run in the 2016/17 season.

    Leicester City chief executive Susan Whelan said: "The accounts of the previous two years have reflected unique seasons in Leicester City’s history, where our intention to invest in our future have been supported by considerable competition revenue."

    A man has been taken to hospital after being stabbed this afternoon.

    Leicestershire Police said they were called to Freehold Street in Loughborough at 13:10 today to reports a 38-year-old man had suffered a stab wound to the abdomen.

    He has been taken to Queen's Medical Centre and his injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

    A cordon remains in place and no arrests have been made.
