    Firefighters have been dealing with a chemical spill near to IKEA in Giltbrook, Nottinghamshire.

    The fire and rescue service said: "One 205 litre drum of chemicals had mixed with four other chemicals, causing a build-up of pressure. No one was injured and there is not thought to be any risk to the public."

    Crews went to Gilt Way as a "precautionary measure" just after 09:30 but have since left.

    Nottinghamshire Police have said the road is still closed.

    A 24-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm, external after a teenager was stabbed in Leicester.

    The 19-year-old needed hospital treatment following the attack near the junction of Humberstone Gate and Charles Street on Wednesday evening.

    Police believe the stabbing followed a fight nearby involving a group of men.

    Police say they're concerned about the safety of a 15-year-old girl from Derby who's been missing for three days.

    Grace Gallagher was last seen in the Stenson Fields area of the city on Tuesday afternoon.

    It's thought the teenager, who was wearing navy blue tracksuit bottoms and a white T-shirt when she disappeared, may have caught a train to Leeds.

    Police have closed a road near to IKEA in Nottinghamshire following a reported chemical leak.

    The leak is on Gilt Way - the road, including the Giltway roundabout, has been closed.

    Drivers are being advised to avoid the area.

    More than £500,000 of funding will help to treat and support people harmed by alcohol in Nottingham.

    The money has come from Public Health England as part of a joint bid between Nottingham University Hospitals and Framework.

    The hospital trust will spend its £220,000 share on a mobile liver scanning device at the Queen's Medical Centre.

    It will also fund a "prevention hub" in the Emergency Department for staff working on prevention agendas and improved computer systems to make sure patient data around alcohol is shared appropriately.

    The homeless charity Framework will receive £320,000 of the funding to develop eight units for people with complex needs - including alcohol dependency. Intense support will be provided to those living in the self-units.

    Highways England says, external a stretch of the M1 northbound between junctions 30 and 31 is likely to remain closed into the evening following a crash earlier.

    The southbound carriageway was shut for a short while after the collision.

    Five Leicester City players were on the pitch last night in England U21's 1-1 draw with Poland U21s at Ashton Gate.

    James Maddison and Bartosz Kapustka played the full 90 minutes for England and Poland, respectively.

    Demarai Gray, Hamza Choudhury and Harvey Barnes all got game time for the Young Lions, coming as second half substitutes.

    England took an early lead when Dominic Calvert-Lewin tapped in Reiss Nelson's cross, but Poland equalised before the break, through an excellent 35 yard free-kick from Sebastian Szymanski.

    A 21-year-old man has been arrested, external on suspicion of two robberies and a public order offence in Nottingham.

    Police said the alleged robberies took place in Park Lenton, Lenton, in November and Booth Close, Nottingham, in December.

    The public order offence took place in Sellers Wood Drive, Bulwell, in November. No further details have been released.

    A penny that saved the life of a World War I soldier has sold at auction for £4,500 - significantly higher than the original estimated price.

    The coin had been in the pocket of Private John Trickett and took the full impact of a German bullet when he was shot in France.

    The medal was sold by his granddaughter Maureen Coulson from Duffield but it will remain in the family as it was bought by her cousin, who she'd lost touch with.

    Mrs Coulson said: “Everyone in our family saw the penny and heard the story of how it saved my grandfather’s life – his two brothers, Horace and Billy, both died in the First World War. My granddad was the only survivor."

    The coin was bought by Nigel Trickett - the owner of a carpet business near Rotherham. He wasn't born until after his grandfather's death.

    He said he wanted to keep the penny, and the medals that were sold alongside it, in the family so it can be handed down.

    Struggling department store chain Debenhams says it is seeking a cash injection of up to £200m from existing lenders as it tries to fend off Mike Ashley.

    The move would allow it to turn down the chief executive of Shirebook-based Sports Direct's offer of a £150m loan as part of a deal that would put him in charge.

    It also warned that shareholders could see their investment wiped out.

    A persistent hoax caller has been jailed for making 999 calls about fires in Bolsover.

    Craig Mawby, 36, was locked up for six weeks after pleading guilty to persistently making use of a public communication network to cause annoyance, inconvenience or anxiety.

    Derbyshire Fire and Rescue Service say that Mawby, of no fixed address, made three hoax calls in total, all reporting fires in Bolsover, which each resulted in two fire engines being mobilised.

    He was also ordered to pay £600 in compensation when he appeared at Chesterfield Magistrates' Court on 15 March.

    An actress who said homosexuality was not "right" is no longer part of an upcoming staging of The Color Purple at Leicester's Curve Theatre.

    Seyi Omooba, who had been due to play the lead role of Celie in the musical, made the assertion in a 2014 Facebook post that resurfaced last week.

    In her post, Omooba said she did "not believe you can be born gay".

    A screengrab of her post was re-circulated by another actor after she was cast as Celie, an abused wife who has an intimate relationship with a female singer.

    The Curve and the Birmingham Hippodrome - the two theatres staging the show later this year - said the actress's comments had "caused significant and widely expressed concerns both on social media and in the wider press".

    The BBC has contacted her representatives to request a comment.
