Police have issued a warning after stopping six boys who had forced their way into a quarry to go swimming.
Police in Market Bosworth said the group had got through fencing at Hill Hole quarry in Markfield.
Posting on Facebook, they said: "They were just about to jump in when we got there - they had clambered right to the bottom.
"We aren't the fun police - but if spoiling your 'fun' means saving your life - then take the advice on board."
It comes as emergency services across the East Midlands are warning of the dangers of open water swimming.
Insp Lauren Woods, of Derbyshire Police, said: "When the weather is warm, it is tempting to jump in to cool off, but this can endanger your life and the lives of others if they then enter the water to help you."
