A "man-sized" Japanese cloisonne vase has sold for £9,500 at auction in Derbyshire.
The 5ft 8in vase, which was produced between 1868 and 1912, was found in a bungalow in Loughborough.
Auctioneer Adrian Rathbone said: “It's a wonderful result and I'm delighted for our vendor. I received a call one day from the owner requesting a vase valuation.
"I asked if they could pop over to our auction centre with it but they said it was a bit too big.
“It belonged to the owner’s late mother who bought it at a country house sale in the 1950s."
The piece was bought by a phone bidder at Hansons Auctioneers on Monday.

Last week we reported on how a woman from Leicestershire was left amazed by an "extra special" Amazon delivery - which was apparently thrown through her upstairs window.
Claudine McLaren returned home last Monday to find a note saying the parcel was put through an "open window".
She found it "weird" as all the downstairs windows were closed, but she then found the undamaged box upstairs.
Since then, The One Show has been to visit Claudine to see how easy it is to get the box through her window.
It turns out it's not that easy...

A pedestrian has been hit by a car and killed after getting out of a parked vehicle in Rutland.
The crash, involving the pedestrian and a Jaguar XF, happened shortly before 22:50 on Saturday on the A606 in Tinwell between the junctions of Water Lane and Steadfold Lane.
The man in his 20s was pronounced dead at the scene, while the driver of the Jaguar was treated for minor injuries.
Det Con Pete Davies, of Leicestershire Police, said they want to talk to anyone who may have seen the Jaguar or the pedestrian before the collision, or witnessed the crash.
He said: "This includes any dashcam footage from vehicles travelling along the A606 around the time of the incident.
"We know the Jaguar was travelling eastbound along the road before the collision occurred and the pedestrian was walking along the road after getting out of a parked car."

Two newborn kittens were dumped next to a bin and left to die in Leicester.
The male cats were discovered with their eyes still closed and their umbilical cords attached in a plastic bag in Warwick Street at about 17:30 on Friday by a woman, who reported the discovery to the RSPCA.
Ann Bennett, an inspector at the charity, said: "These two very young kittens were callously dumped like rubbish and separated from their mum far too early.
"Sadly, we do see many animals abandoned like this. We understand that sometimes people’s circumstances can change which means they can no longer care for their pets but there is never an excuse to abandon an animal."
The two kittens, named Max and Lewis, are being cared for at an RSPCA branch in Northamptonshire until they are old enough to be rehomed.

Speaking to BBC Radio Nottingham, team leader Alan Henshaw said: "The call was they were going to completely empty the reservoir, that's why we were called."
The team used a vehicle with a fish tank on the back of it to move the fish, which were captured by large nets in the reservoir.
The fish that were relocated were taken to Bittell Reservoirs in Worcestershire.
He added: "The decision was [eventually] made to leave some water in the bottom, so the majority of fish are still in the [Toddbrook] reservoir."

The annual Leicester City Festival gets under way today with a giant transparent dome on Jubilee Square.
The dome will be the centrepiece of this year's programme, showcasing local film, music and comedy.
It concludes on Sunday with the annual Ride Leicester cycle event - a 6km circuit of traffic-free roads in the city centre.
Theo Crew is part of the organising team for the city council and said it's going to be a mixture of entertainment and education.
"It's the festival that ends the summer holidays and bank holiday and pulls in all different levels of culture," he said.
