The Newark and Sherwood district has been taken off the government's watchlist of places with numbers of coronavirus cases "warranting national attention".
Newark MP and housing secretary Robert Jenrick said: "That's a tribute to the hard work of everybody in the community who has been following the social distancing guidelines.
"Also, to our employers who have made sure their work spaces are Covid secure, and have been asking people to take extra care, particularly when car sharing."
He added: "This is an opportunity for us to get back into the town centre, to support the independent businesses as well as the pubs, restaurants and cafes who have suffered in recent weeks."
The district was put on the list last month.
Newark and Sherwood's rise in new cases was linked to the Bakkavor dessert factory, where 74 confirmed cases were found when its entire workforce was tested.
