    Two Leicester city councillors who admitted breaking lockdown rules have been given a formal warning.

    Ruma Ali, who represents the Humberstone and Hamilton ward, was seen having a barbecue in her garden on 2 August.

    Fellow Labour councillor Rashmi Joshi (pictured above), of the North Evington ward, attended a crowded religious event.

    Ms Ali said she had "misunderstood" the rules and Mr Joshi said his event "got out of hand".

    Both had apologised but were investigated by the local party.

    It has now issued the warning and said any further breaches would have "serious consequences".

    A woman has been arrested after a four-week-old French bulldog puppy was stolen from a house in Nottingham.

    The lilac and tan coloured pup was taken from a property in Bakersfield on Monday.

    Detectives, who have searched a number of houses, fear for the dog's health as it still requires its mother.

    The family, who remain "heartbroken" and "desperate", have offered a £500 reward for its safe return.

    A 26-year-old woman was arrested this morning on suspicion of handling stolen goods and has since been released under investigation.

    Two men have been charged with conspiracy to commit grievous bodily harm after a man was slashed with a knife inside his home.

    Nottinghamshire Police said it happened on Esther Varney Place in Newark on 21 August.

    The victim suffered a deep wound to his torso and was taken to hospital for treatment but has since been discharged.

    Det Sgt Ricky Ellis, from the Nottinghamshire force, said: "The victim is lucky his injuries aren't as serious as first anticipated.

    "This must have been a terrifying experience for the victim and those in the house at the time."

    The men, aged 34 and 37, were arrested yesterday and have since been charged.

    They are due to appear at Nottingham Magistrates' Court later.

    An investigation has been launched by council officials after video footage appears to show a young woman being pounced on by a mountain lion in a private enclosure in Nottinghamshire.

    It's alleged the footage, which appeared online, was filmed in Strelley, where Reece Oliver looks after a Canadian puma - or mountain lion - and two African lions rescued from the Czech Republic.

    Mr Oliver has a licence to keep exotic animals at his home and the enclosure was approved by Broxtowe Borough Council.

    The authority has confirmed its environmental health team is aware of the video and investigating.

    A spokesman for Mr Oliver's solicitors said it would be inappropriate for him to comment at this stage and added that the video appeared to have been obtained without consent.

    A woman inspired by Captain Sir Tom Moore has raised £1,500 for a maternity unit by walking 100 laps of her garden in Bulwell.

    Win Greatorex's 100th birthday is in November and it's taken her several weeks to complete but she did it on Wednesday.

    After she finished the challenge, Ms Greatorex said: "I feel so proud of myself that I've done it.

    "I hope I shall live to see my 100th birthday and I can repeat it all again."

    Her granddaughter Donna Jordan was there to congratulate her on the finish line.

    She had a baby in April but lockdown restrictions meant Ms Greatorex couldn't meet her new great grandson for 12 weeks.

    The money raised will go to King's Mill Hospital's maternity unit where Ms Jordan gave birth.
