    A devout Muslim father has failed to persuade a High Court judge to rule his sons should be circumcised. The man, who was born in Algeria but lives in England, argued that circumcision would be in accordance with his religious beliefs.

    But the boys' mother, who grew up in Devon and is separated from their father, disagreed in a family court hearing in Exeter.

    The company responsible for probation services in Devon, Cornwall and Dorset insists it will ensure it delivers a "safe scheme" at all times, despite consulting over proposed job cuts.

    The National Association of Probation Officers claims up to 40% of staff could be lost, which could put public safety at risk.

    Working LInks, external, which won the probation contract in 2014, said it was still in consultation, but it expected fewer job losses than had been previously stated.

    A body found washed up in Dorset is that of a missing junior doctor, Devon and Cornwall Police have confirmed.

    The body of Rose Polge, 25, who worked at Torbay Hospital in Devon, was recovered from the sea east of Portland Bill headland in Dorset on 1 April.

     The doctor's car was found in February at Ansteys Cove near Torquay, the town where she worked.

    Former England international Graham Dawe has been asked to "step down immediately" as Plymouth Albion's director of rugby at the request of the club's new owners.

    The National One club were taken over by former players David Venables and Bruce Priday last week after entering administration.

    "I have been asked by the new owners of Plymouth Albion to step down immediately," Dawe said in a statement. "I met with Bruce Priday and Nigel Sparrow yesterday for the first time where they informed me I was not part of their current plans as they wanted a fresh start.
