    The A30 Westbound carriageway has reopened after a multi-vehicle crash near Bodmin.

    The incident, on the eastbound carriageway, involved four vehicles with people being taken to Plymouth's Derriford Hospital for treatment.

    A police spokesman said the Eastbound carriageway remained closed.

    Cornwall councillor Bert Biscoe has said he is "not sad" about the damage to the Merlin carving at Tintagel Castle, which caused a row over the "Disneyfication" of the site.

    English Heritage says it does not know if the damage is deliberate, but Mr Biscoe said he would not "be surprised" if it was. "People are extremely angry about the way English Heritage has marched in and done all of this", he added.

    Alex Page, from English Heritage, said "the carving has been immensely popular with the public since we unveiled it" and the organisation would be "disappointed" if it was a case of vandalism.

    The A30 at Bodmin is closed in both directions between the Callywith turning (A38, Launceston Road) and Carminow Cross, due to a multi-vehicle crash.

    Two people have been taken to hospital after a four-vehicle crash.

    Emergency services are at the scene. Traffic is slow moving through Bodmin as well as on the A30 leading up to the closure..

    The A30 is expected to remain closed until mid-afternoon, the BBC understands.

    The crash between four vehicles happened on the eastbound side of the A30 near Margate Woods, Bodmin.

    The A30 in both directions has been closed between the A391 Truro Road (Innis Downs Junction) and A38 Launceston Road (Callywith).

    Two people injured in a multi-vehicle crash on the A30 have been taken to Plymouth's Derriford Hospital.

    The crash between four vehicles - including a lorry and a van - happened at 10:30 this morning.

    The South Western Ambulance Service said one person had been flown by air ambulance and another had been taken by land ambulance.

    Police said both carriageways at the Bodmin junction were closed and would be for the foreseeable future.

    Three people are trapped in vehicles following a four vehicle crash on the A30.

    Both carriageways are closed at the Bodmin junction.

    Police said four vehicles including an overturned lorry and a van were involved.

    The road is expected to be closed for a considerable amount of time with the ambulance service, two air ambulances, police and fire service at the scene.

    A businessman has been congratulated for taking over a village car park and making it free to use.

    The Seafield car park in Westward Ho!, Devon, previously cost £3 per day, but Rob Braddick said: "It is nice to give something back the community."

    Villagers responded with delight to the news on social media:

    Lizzie Warrener described it as "a marvellous gesture", while Roger Pullen said he was "a fine example in the community". Robin Jones called it was "a lovely story" and Womblesub described him as a "credit to his country." One graduate even said she could talk about the subject in a business studies lesson.

    Allegations of undeclared general election expenses by Devon and Cornwall’s new police and crime commissioner are about to be discussed by the panel that oversees her work.

    Alison Hernandez denies any wrongdoing, but Labour and Liberal Democrat politicians say they’re concerned the investigation into the claims will overshadow her work.

    This extraordinary meeting of the police and crime panel was called after four members demanded it.
