    Daily Politics reporter also headed to the south west, where he heard from those in favour and those against.

    TV presenter Richard Madeley told him the county was "quite stroppy" and did not like being told what to do.

    A man and woman have been rescued from a cliff face after they got stuck while trying to rescue their dog.

    The emergency services were called to Start Point, in Devon, this morning.

    The woman was airlifted from the cliff face and taken to hospital. The man was helped off the cliff face by coastguard teams. A Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said the dog was rescued by coastguard teams.

    Employers should allow staff to watch today's Euro 2016 game between England and Wales, according to the South West TUC.

    The union is urging managers to let employees watch the clash on their premises, or allow staff to work flexibly and make up the hours at a later date.

    Regional Secretary Nigel Costley said: “Allowing people more flexibility in how and when they do their work makes them happier. Tournaments like Euro 2016 can be a great chance to build camaraderie at work, with working people running sweepstakes and spending time together. It’s important employers do not score an own goal by acting like killjoys.”

    The Care Quality Commission's (CQC) report is damning of the NHS 111 service, but while unions acknowledge the problems, they say it isn't necessarily the South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust's (SWASFT) fault and blame a lack of funding.

    SWASFT announced it was handing back the Devon part of the contract over a year ago because it couldn't provide the service for the money it was getting but has had the contract extended until October while a joint NHS 111/out of hours GP service is commissioned.

    There is standing room only in a bar on the beach in Cornwall as England play Wales in Lens.

    Numbers have been swelled by holidaymakers, many of whom have left the beach early to watch the game. 

    Pub bosses estimate they will take as much as £5,000 during the course of the game.

    Social workers looking after vulnerable children in Devon are struggling with huge workloads and leaving after just a few months in the job, a report finds.

    The report by Devon County Council also finds problems with a shortage of experienced staff and a lack of mental health support for young people. 

    The problems are being discussed by the council today.

    Jennifer and Dave Collins from Cannock in Staffordshire enjoyed a quick drink before travelling back to their caravan park at Holywell Bay to support England.

    Dave said he has a feeling England will lose, while Jennifer thinks it will be a draw.

    Dave tells me: "Listening to what's going on, the Welsh team seems more passionate and focused and there is too much pressure on England."

    A skipper of a commuter ferry aimed at getting people out of their cars in Torbay says he understands people's frustration at the promised ferry which is now 18 months overdue.

    John Ford spoke as it was revealed that each passenger cost taxpayers more than £170 in subsidies.

    "With the new fast ferry still not on site people have lost faith in the whole situation which is totally understandable," he said.

    "But this has never been tried before in Torquay and we're going to do our utmost to make it work."
