    Political Reporter, BBC Radio Cornwall

There are calls for urgent clarity from the government on Cornwall's EU cash as it's emerged various funding streams have been put on hold.

There have been concerns about the future of about £465m - earmarked for the county up until 2020 - ever since the Brexit vote in June. Now it appears some grants are being frozen or temporarily halted, affecting things like a planned technology park near St Austell, rural development grants and transport schemes.

A letter has been sent to ministers from business leaders and councillors amid concerns the uncertainty could damage business confidence and the economy. The Treasury told BBC Radio Cornwall it recognises it needs to end uncertainty, and an announcement on the future of funding programmes will be made soon.

Homeowners and business people have told the BBC they're angry and upset at a threat to their future from plans for a new road to ease congestion on one of the main routes into Devon.

The county council wants to build a new route to speed up traffic on the A30 through the Blackdown Hills in the east of Devon.

The village of Monkton would be worst affected. The parish council have arranged a public meeting, and say they will fight plans which would mean anyone losing their home or business.

Dennis Munt, who has lived in his house - which could be demolished - by the A30 for 52 years, said: "I'm gutted, it's as simple as that." No-one from Devon County Council would be interviewed, but a statement said they had launched an extensive public consultation so everyone could have a say on the proposals to upgrade the road.
