    Penzance's reigning Olympic champion Helen Glover will be hoping for better weather later today as she aims to make the final of the women's pair with Heather Stanning.

    High winds forced the postponement of the rowing events in Rio yesterday, including the duo's semi-final.

    The gold medal favourites, who have not been beaten as a duo since 2011, are due to race at 1230 BST.

    A fire that broke out at a recycling unit "needs babysitting" through its fourth day, firefighters have said.

    The blaze at St Erth, near Hayle, Cornwall, has been scaled back significantly after it started at about 20:15 on Monday, Cornwall Fire and Rescue Service said.

    Fire station manager David Carlisle said it had been a significant incident due to the "severity of the fire".
