    Fresh concerns have been raised over the risks posed by badly parked cars on narrow Cornish streets.

    Wadebridge Fire Station has posted pictures on Facebook, external of Glen Road after it took 13 minutes for a fire engine to travel 250yds down the road when the crew took the appliance out on Monday evening "to see how it would affect our response time in an emergency". 

    The station said: "Imagine if your property was on fire and it took a fire engine that long to reach you because of a few parked cars." The station has asked for suggestions on "how can we resolve this problem".

    A man is expected to be sentenced later after pleading guilty to leaving death threats on a Devon MP's answerphone

    Geoffrey Farquharson, 37, from Exeter, admitted leaving a "message of venom" at Ben Bradshaw's Westminster office in a two-minute rant, ending with the words "I will kill you". 

    The threats came just a day before fellow MP Jo Cox was stabbed and shot.

    Devon beat Cornwall by 10 wickets to end the Duchy's chances of winning the Minor Counties Western Division title.

    Brad Wadlan's 116 helped Cornwall to 286 all out in their first innings, but an excellent 166 not out from Zac Bess saw Devon go from 118-6 to reach 404-9 in reply as he and Jack Dart (78) put on 174 for the seventh wicket. 

    Bess then took 5-35 as Cornwall slumped to 158 all out before Dan Wold (29 not out) and Max Curtis (15 not out) got the 44 runs Devon needed for victory.

    A woman has been rescued by fire crews after she became trapped under a car in Exmouth.

    Two fire engines and a heavy rescue vehicle were sent to Brixington Lane at about 18:45 on Monday, where she was found trapped underneath the vehicle by her shoulder and arm, Devon and Somerset Fire Service said, external.

    The crews used airbags, chocks and a winch to lift the vehicle off the woman, who was then taken to Derriford Hospital in Plymouth.
