    Police investigating the discovery of part of a human foot in a walking boot in woods in Cornwall say they have also "found found further items and personal belongings".

    The boot containing the remains was found by a dog walker in Nansavallan Woods at about 17:00 last Thursday.

    Devon and Cornwall Police said the items were found in further searches after the foot was initially found. It added that officers would remain at the scene today.

    Having gone a goal down, Louis Rooney and Niall Thompson struck in the second half to give City the lead before conceding a late equaliser - the draw came after heavy losses in their previous two games.

    "It's disappointing not to get all three points, but we stopped the rot from the two performances," Hodges said. "I'm pleased that the boys showed the character to get their noses in front and it was just disappointment that we're going through a slump, as we dropped off a bit deeper.

    A Devon artist has been chosen to create a sculpture of pop icon David Bowie.

    The final statue of the music superstar will be life-size and bronze, showing various sides to Bowie, including his alter-ego Ziggy Stardust. 

    Andrew Sinclair's work is planned for the town of Aylesbury in Buckinghamshire, where the star launched two albums during the 1970s. 

    Planning permission has been granted and a campaign is under way to raise £100,000 for the artwork.

    A Devon man cut off two of his toes when they went gangrenous after complications related to diabetes.

    Paul Dibbins took action after a hospital operation was cancelled. Fearing he might lose his whole foot, he set to work with surgeon's pliers. 

    He spoke about the gruesome home surgery to BBC Inside Out South West.

    Remains of a human foot have been found in a walking boot in woods near Truro.

    Devon and Cornwall Police said the boot containing the remains was found by a dog walker in Nansavallan Woods at about 17:00 last Thursday.

    Police said they were continuing to search the area.

    The force said it was not treating the discovery as suspicious. The coroner has been advised.

    A large security operation is under way for the arrival in Devon of dozens of young migrants from the so-called Jungle migrant camp in France.

    Sources involved in the operation have told the BBC up to 70 migrants are being brought to a hostel in the countryside near Great Torrington

    The Home Office is acutely aware of the sensitivity of this issue and dozens of private security guards will accompany the children, we’ve been told.

    They're being brought to the hostel from London, where they’ve been staying since leaving the camp in Calais, which French authorities have started to clear.

    A new building at Devon and Cornwall Police's headquarters in Exeter is being named after a popular Falmouth constable.

    Andy Hocking died unexpectedly while off duty in March last year, aged 52. Thousands of people came together shortly afterwards to remember him by walking his beat.

    Bronze footprints were also installed across the town centre in his memory.
