    A woman who has lived in a caravan in a public car park in Cornwall is due to be evicted.

    Traveller Sally Bowers has been living at the car park in Coverack, on The Lizard peninsula, for 11 years. 

    But the local parish council is due to send in bailiffs to clear the site after serving an eviction notice earlier this year

    Ms Bowers said she had "nowhere else to go". Leaseholders St Keverne Parish Council previously said up to 25 parking spaces would be freed if the travellers were relocated, and it "strongly supports" a plan for a travellers' site on Goonhilly Downs.

    A spate of burglaries in the Barnstaple area has sparked an appeal for information from Devon and Cornwall Police, external.

    The incidents - between 27 October and 1 November - occurred in Gloster Road, Raleigh Lawn, Cat's Lane and Orchard Road and included two house burglaries and the theft of two cars.

    A suspect, seen in the area, has been described as a white, aged 16 to 17-years-old, of a slim build, about 5ft 5in tall (1.7m) and wearing a light grey hooded top with dark wavy lines on the front.

    Evidence will be heard regarding what information was known to Cornwall Council about the stability of the surrounding area at an inquest into the death of a woman who died in a landslide.

    Susan Norman died in March 2013 when tonnes of rubble came into her home in Looe.

    At the start of the inquest today at Truro Magistrates, Coroner Stephen Nicholls said evidence would be heard regarding what may have been known, or ought to have been known, by council officials regarding the stability of the surrounding area, and what, if anything, was done to address any potential risks of a landslide.

    A grandmother died in a pile of rubble after a landslide engulfed her home and buried her while she was in bed, an inquest has heard.

    Susan Norman, 68, died after a massive landslide poured down the hillside behind her home in Looe on a night of torrential rain.

    An inquest into Mrs Norman's death in March 2013 began this morning at Truro Magistrates Court.

    Work starts today at Exeter Quay as part of the city's £32m flood defence scheme.

    The project is expected to reduce the flood risk to more than 3,200 homes and businesses. 

    Today's work will begin by diverting cables and water mains to make way for concrete piles which will support flood gates outside on the waterfront. 

    Construction will also start on temporary barriers on Exeter Quay that can be put up when flooding is likely.

    Plans to build a bridge at the historic Tintagel Castle are being revealed to members of the public for the first time.

    The English Heritage project attracted international interest with 130 architects applying to take on the ambitious design.

    The organisation says it wants to show people the bridge won't change or damage the site, but will instead enhance the visitor experience.

    A dog's been rescued after getting stuck up a tree in Newquay.

    A fire crew from the town was called to Wildflower Lane in the early hours of this morning.

    The dog was safely handed back to his owner and wasn't injured.

    Government plans to increase business rates on rooftop solar installations would be a "backward step" for sustainable energey, according to Devon County Council.

    The council claims it would deter organisations from installing the technology and has written to local MPs asking them to raise the matter in Parliament.

    An autistic boy from Exmouth who was sent more than 18,000 birthday cards from around the world, is putting them on display.

    Ollie Jones was deluged with cards from 46 countries after his mum, fearing he wouldn't get any birthday wishes, put out a plea on social media.
