    • In Devon, there's slow moving traffic on the A38 from Kennford heading towards Exeter 
    • In Exeter, there are traffic lights problems on the Sandygate roundabout - Junction 30 of the M5, northbound off-slip 
    • In Plymouth, traffic is slow-moving on Wolseley Rd, near the St Budeaux bypass, because one lane of the bypass is closed for roadworks. There are queues back to A38 
    • One lane is blocked on the A380 near Kingsteignton, heading towards Penn Inn, on the entry slip road at Teignmouth Road, due to an incident 
    • Early sailings of the Brixham Express Ferry have been cancelled due to the sea swell 
    • In Cornwall, there are reports of a broken-down vehicle partially blocking the A30 near Marazanvose, heading west 
    • On the A38, from Trerulefoot heading towards Plymouth, there's slow moving traffic

    An 89-year-old who put an ad in a paper looking for work to save him from "dying of boredom" says he has had a "really hectic" start to his new job.

    Joe Bartley was met by cheers and applause from customers when he clocked on for the first time at the Cantina Bar and Kitchen in Paignton, Devon, on Sunday.

    The pensioner landed the job after posting a plea in the Herald Express, external. He said he was "overwhelmed by all the attention" and was looking forward to "getting down to the job".

  5. Polzeath holidaymaker dies after being pulled from seapublished at 08:01 Greenwich Mean Time 5 December 2016

    A police investigation is under way after the death of a holidaymaker in the sea off Cornwall. 

    The 36-year-old woman, who had been visiting Polzeath with friends and family, was reported missing on Sunday morning.

    An "extensive" air and sea search was launched at 10:00 GMT, and a lifeboat crew pulled her from the water later, police said. She was airlifted to the Royal Cornwall Hospital in Truro, but confirmed dead on arrival.

    Police said inquiries into her death were continuing, and that the coroner and the woman's family had been informed.
