A holiday island bar manager had been in an argument with a group of Polish workers at a party on the night he went missing, an inquest has heard.
Image source, Clayton familyThe body of Josh Clayton, 23, from Taunton, was found on rocks near Tresco in the Scilly Isles following an eight-day search.
Party-goer Leroy Thomas said he saw Mr Clayton "ranting and raving" and saying he was going to kill himself.
Mr Clayton's family broke down in tears at the inquest in Plymouth.
A woman was attacked by a man who emerged from bushes in Plympton and tried to drag her back in.
Police say it happened between 17:15 and 17:25 on Monday 9 January within the grounds of Saltram House, and would like to talk to anyone with information.
The woman is in her 30s and was walking a dog at the time.
She fought off the attacker, described as white, 5ft 7in tall and of slim build, who then ran off in the direction of Chelson Meadow.

One of the main roads in Plymouth is closed after eight unexploded grenades were discovered by road workers.

The road has been closed in both directions and police and emergency services have evacuated homes and business in the area and a 100m cordon is in place.
The Royal Navy's Explosive Ordnance Disposal team is at the scene.
It'll be mostly dry this evening, although we'll see thicker cloud and outbreaks of rain and drizzle moving south-eastwards tonight, with strengthening winds, particularly around exposed windward coasts and hills, such as Bodmin, Dartmoor and Exmoor.

After a mild start on Wednesday, light rain will clear by the afternoon, with colder and brighter weather developing.

Killerton House near Exeter, looked after by the National Trust, has launched a major fundraising campaign to plug the holes in its leaking roof.
About £100,000 is needed to help pay for work due to start in late February to prevent the threat of water damage to the house and collection, which includes a unique Trust fashion collection.
The money raised will also go towards carrying out work to conserve the roof over the house, exterior walls, windows, chimneys and parapets.

More than 250,000 people lined the county’s streets and roads to watch the Devon Stage of the Tour of Britain last September, according to an independent report.
It reveals that despite the wet weather the Devon Stage of the competition attracted more spectators than the previous 2014 stage and generated more than £4.26m for Devon’s economy.

People who've bought homes on a brand new estate in Devon say their complaints about problems with their properties have either been ignored or not sorted quickly enough.
Some residents at Batheway Fields in North Tawton say their homes haven't been finished properly and claim their complaints have been ignored by the developer.
From unfinished kitchens to problems with wooden floors, BBC Radio Devon has been told that almost a year after moving in, some problems still haven't been sorted.
Developer, Wain Homes has apologised.

Each student in Devon and Cornwall has seen their education budget cut by £44 this year.
The figures - which have been adjusted for inflation - form part of an investigation by BBC News on the increasing cost of education in England.
While the average spend per pupil has dropped by £37 across England for the current school year, government spending has increased by £60m.
A higher number of pupils - fuelled by high fertility rates and immigration - means less money is spent on each pupil.
In 2012 the fertility rate for England and Wales, external hit its highest level since 1973 and the 725,000 children born in that year are now entering the education system for the first time.
A woman was allegedly racially abused while walking her dog in a Plymouth park.
Police say another woman, who was sitting on a bench, is reported to have used racially abusive language towards her in Freedom Fields Park, just before 14:00 on Thursday 5 January.

A consultation over plans to extend England's network of protected marine areas is being "rushed through" and poorly communicated, MPs have been told.
The government wants to create another 48 Marine Conservation Zones in the third and final wave of allocations, including some in the South West.

A grieving Cornish family has paid heartbreaking tribute to their "very brave, courageous and selfless" son who died aged 17 from a very difficult to detect cancer, external which affects just three people in a million.
Groups on both Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly have been given money for cultural projects.
On Scilly, the Islands' Partnership has been awarded £147,600 by Arts Council England. It says it will "work with a local consortium of the Isles of Scilly’s artistic and cultural communities to develop a distinctive tourism offer."
