    A fence has been erected outside a city centre bank branch in Truro to prevent and deter homeless people from gathering and sleeping outside.

    NatWest bank "moved on" a group of people in tents (pictured below) outside the St Nicholas Street branch last week because of concerns for the "safety and security of our customers and employees". There were claims some of the group had been intimidating people.

    However, as you can see from the top picture, it still didn't deter someone from parking their car there on Sunday afternoon.

    Exeter ran in five tries to extinguish Ulster's hopes of Champions Cup quarter-final qualification by winning 31-19 in the Pool 5 game at Sandy Park on Sunday.

    Michele Campagnaro and Thomas Waldrom both crossed twice for the hosts who retain a very slim mathematical chance of making the competition's last eight. Exeter were also awarded a late penalty try as they picked up a bonus point.

    Sean Reidy's try gave Ulster an early lead while the impressive Charles Piutau touched down in each half. Ulster-born Exeter fly-half Gareth Steenson kicked three conversions, with Paddy Jackson adding the extra points to two of his side's tries.

    Four months of disruption to commuters and residents in the Glynn Valley is expected while Highways England carry out multi-million pound roadworks.

    The work is needed to strengthen the retaining walls of the A38 and repair a collapsed culvert.

    Overnight closures of the road are already in operation but the bulk of the work will be carried out in the day with a one-way diversion carrying traffic. 

    Nick Read, the Highways England maintenance and operations manager, says it's done its best to ease disruption.

    A woman who went missing from her home in Ivybridge in Devon at the weekend has been found safe and well in Lostwithiel in Cornwall. 

    Police were concerned about the welfare of 48-year-old Emma Mitchell when she was reported missing on Friday. 

    Officers said she was located on Saturday and thanked members of the public for their help.

    The inquests into the deaths of 30 British tourists killed at a Tunisian resort in June 2015 are to open later.

    Islamist gunman Seifeddine Rezgui opened fire on holidaymakers on the beach near Sousse, killing 38 in total. 

    Stephen Mellor, 59, from Bodmin in Cornwall, was killed as he attempted to shield his wife, Cheryl. She survived by pretending to be dead after she was shot and injured.

    The terror attack remains the deadliest on Britons since the 7 July London bombings in 2005. The hearings at London's Royal Courts of Justice are expected to take seven weeks.

    Devon & Somerset Fire Service is recruiting full-time firefighters for the first time in eight years.

    Applicants have to be older than 17-and-a-half, have a full driving licence and be able to swim 50m.

    A 46-year-old man from Exeter has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after a big police search.

    Officers were called to Leighton Terrace just before 22:00 on Sunday following reports of a man being stabbed.

    A police helicopter was drafted in to help search for the suspect and a man was found in woods near Prince of Wales Road.

    An off-duty paramedic and ambulance personnel helped treat a 30-year-old man at the scene before he was taken to hospital with what police described as non-life threatening injuries.

    Six fire crews have been tackling a blaze in a house in Exmouth overnight. 

    Crews were called to Elvis Road just after midnight and found a fire in a garden shed had spread to the first floor and the roof space of the house.

    One person was treated after breathing in smoke, firefighters said.

    Doctors are warning that NHS patients face "dangerous" treatment delays due to a 10-fold increase in referral management centres. 

    The centres act as a filter between GPs and hospitals.

    About a third of health commissioning groups in England use the centres, but the number of patients being rejected has increased steadily in the last two years, often for administrative reasons such as information missing in a referral letter. 

    The British Medical Association, which represents doctors, described it as a barrier that takes decisions about patients away from GPs. The NHS said such centres helped ensure people got the right advice, care or treatment.
