Doctors are urging parents to be vigilant as cases of scarlet fever are rising , external in parts of the South West.
It will feel cold with frequent heavy showers through the day along with some bright or sunny intervals. Some of the showers will include hail and may be thundery with sleet or snow showers also a risk over high ground.
Moderate or fresh southwesterly winds will reach up to gale force in gusts and around exposed parts of the coast. Maximum temperature 8C (46F).

Six people have been taken to hospital after a carbon monoxide alarm went off in a property in Camborne.
Firefighters told them to evacuate the property on Centenary Row West after they reported feeling unwell.
Crews detected carbon monoxide in the building and an ambulance attended.
A decision is expected today on whether to continue with Truro's controversial bid for the European Capital of Culture in 2023.
It's the second time Cornwall Council cabinet members have voted, after the initial decision was reviewed by a scrutiny committee.
It's thought the application to bid will cost the taxpayer more than £500,000.
A £1.3m scheme to improve Teignmouth's sea defences starts today.
The work aims to reduce the flood risk to more than 400 homes and businesses in the lower part of the town.
The work will involve inserting 230m of steel in front of the existing sea wall from the lighthouse to the point, with a new concrete capping beam and slab added to strengthen the wall.
