On the A38 Exeter bound at the A383 Newton Abbot turn-off, one lane is now open following an earlier serious accident between Newton Abbot and Drum Bridges. A diversion remains in place.

There's very slow traffic with queues tailing back beyond Ashburton. The diversion route is also very busy. Police say that accident investigation work is likely to continue for some time.

It's part of the plans being introduced by the force which will see Tasers being upgraded with a new twin-cartridge - allowing them to be fired twice if needed.

This increase will mean about 40% of the total number of police officers in Devon and Cornwall will be trained to use a Taser.
