Devon and Cornwall Police have begun to deploy body worn cameras to firearms officers following a successful trial, police said.

A spokesman said: "The technology offers greater transparency for those in front of the camera as well as behind it."

    Quote Message

This helps keep both the officers and public safer. The evidence captured via body worn cameras will allow better protection for our officers and provide a better understanding of decisions made under pressure. They will also ensure that standards are kept high, and protocols followed, in more extreme circumstances, again benefiting our communities.

Witnesses to rogue traders who have been offering block paving services in Cornwall, are being asked to step forward by the council's Trading Standards.

According to Cornwall council the rogue traders arrived in April and began cold calling at homes in Camborne and Liskeard, offering to block pave or power wash driveways.

In one instance, the company began work without the consent of the homeowner in an attempt to force payment and became aggressive with another victim when payment in cash was refused.

Cornwall Council Trading Standards has warned the public the offenders pose as legitimate limited companies, using new sign written vehicles and "glossy advertising materials".
