    A dramatic new bridge at one of the most famous beauty spots in the South West is one step closer to reality after planning proposals were submitted.

    English Heritage wants to build the bridge at Tintagel on the north Cornwall coast to cross from the mainland to the historic island which is often associated with the legend of King Arthur.

    The bridge would be 55m high and English Heritage believes it will reduce congestion around the site which attracts thousands of visitors.

    Three cows have been rescued from a slurry pit in Cornwall.

    Three fire crews were sent to a farm at Lerryn near Lostwithiel yesterday afternoon after the animals got stuck.

    Firefighters used rescue paths, rescue lines and farming equipment to rescue the cows. The animals are not thought to have been injured.

    A national children's charity says it's disappointed it's seen a huge rise in the number of cyber-related child sex crimes which police across the region have had to deal with.

    Figures from the NSPCC show Devon and Cornwall officers tackled 17 cases this year compared to one in 2015/16.

    The charity says it's a worrying trend in how predators are targeting children.
