    There are warnings of more rush hour congestion on the A38 Tamar Bridge this morning.

    There were long delays for drivers last night as traffic was down to one lane each way because of a damaged manhole cover.

    The lane closure on the bridge remains in force this morning.

    Drivers are being warned to allow extra time for their journey.

    There is concern for the welfare of a man who has gone missing from Ivybridge, police say., external

    Twenty-nine-year-old Peter Gunning, who has learning difficulties, was reported missing at 19:30 on Tuesday.

    He is a white male, has dark brown hair, 5ft 9ins tall and of stocky build.

    It is believed that he is wearing a woolly hat, a beige-coloured summer weight jacket, grey jeans, walking boots and pink socks.

    Police said he was often drawn to water, such as local rivers, and has been known to pose as an eastern European when seeking help from other people.

    Anyone with information is being asked to contact Devon and Cornwall Police.

    A hospital where staff failings resulted in the death or significant harm of four newborn babies says it is considering its options after staff issued a no confidence vote in the governing hospital trust's medical director.

    The staff vote came against the Northern Devon Healthcare NHS Trust's George Thomson.

    The trust has been told to make "significant improvements" by the Care Quality Commission (CQC).

    Inspectors criticised the trust for failings in maternity, A&E and outpatients at North Devon District Hospital.

    • In Perranwell, on School Hill, there are reports the road is partially blocked due to fallen tree at Greenwith Hill
    • Also in Cornwall, on the A3072 between Howard Lane and Red Post, there are reports of fallen tree. Approach with care
    • In Devon, Station Hill, between Sinai Hill and Barbrook Road in Lynton, is blocked in both directions due to a fallen tree.

    Exmoor Search and Rescue Team took over from coastguards on Tuesday to help search for a "high-risk" missing person.

    The search began at about 17:00 with Exmoor Search and Rescue taking over at 21:00 in "some terrible weather conditions".

    The team was stood down at midnight.

    It's believed the man went missing from the Porlock/Minehead area.

  10. Fire service deals with five separate road incidentspublished at 07:15

    Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service had to deal with five separate incidents on Devon's roads overnight.

    They included:

    • A five-car crash on the M5 near Exeter
    • A multi-vehicle collision on the A30 at Fenny Bridges, near Ottery St Mary
    • Two incidents on the motorway near Cullompton
    • A crash on the B3181 near Weaver Bridge in Westcott in mid Devon

    The vehicles in all five incidents were made safe with duty of care for two of them handed over to police and highways bosses.
