A revolutionary aircraft built in the West will celebrate its 70th anniversary next year.
The Bristol Brabazon airliner was designed and built at Filton to fly between Europe and the United States, but was never put into production.
The last surviving member of the crew who flew on its historic maiden flight is 95-year-old John Cochrane, from Devon.
He remembered how 10,000 Bristolians turned up to see that historic maiden flight.

The family of a 14-year-old girl say they're angry the NHS in Cornwall won't provide vital equipment that could save her life.
Robin Fulker, from St Ives, has type 1 diabetes and has no ability to recognize when her blood sugar levels are low, which leads to her blacking out.
New technology is available that allows Robin to detect when her blood sugar levels are low and provide her with much needed independence. But it comes at an ongoing, monthly cost.
And whilst Robin currently has the device after a crowd-funding campaign, that money won't last forever.
The NHS Kernow Clinical Commissioning Group has told the family it hasn't the funds to provide the equipment.
If Robin is at school, her mother, Rachel, has to go there and physically bring her round with a gentle slap - something the school can't do because of safeguarding rules.
Rachel said the impact of not having the machine was huge: "The reality is she won’t be able to go to college, she can’t get on a bus, she won't be able to drive a car.
"She won’t be able to do the normal kind of things that teenagers do, or in her early 20s, like go travelling, living independently."

Wayward mare Maple disappeared from her field on Friday morning, leading her owners to fear she had been stolen.
After days of searching, owner Jay Jenkinson heard neighing from the 9ft (2.75m) deep hole in the corner of Maple's enclosure.
He said he was "over the moon" when firefighters winched an uninjured - but rather dirty - Maple to safety.
