Scilly aims to boost year-round tourismpublished at 07:50 Greenwich Mean Time 20 March 2018
The Isles of Scilly is launching what it calls a "bold long term plan" for its vital tourism industry later.
Tourism accounts for 85% of all jobs on the islands but the season is comparatively short.
Today's launch includes new investment in transport and services along with a stronger emphasis on the island's cultural heritage and its potential as an eco-destination.
James Berresford, chairman of the Islands' Partnership said the aim was to meet "the growing demand for discerning, authentic, experience-led tourism".
