Police say there is "every indication" a 15-month-old baby died after a pain relief patch became attached to her, an inquest has heard.
Amelia Grace Cooper, from Newquay, was found lifeless by her parents on 5 June 2016.
Det Con Simon Miller told the coroner at Bodmin Magistrates Court there was "insufficient evidence" to show just how a fentanyl pain relief patch had become attached to her.
He added three scenarios had been explored and a search of the property was carried out - but no patch was found near Amelia's body.
The scenarios included the patch becoming detached from Amelia's mother Sara Talbot - who was sharing her bed - that Amelia took off the patch from her mother and applied it herself or that a third person applied the patch.
Det Con Miller said: “There is insufficient evidence to suggest that a third party was involved in this death, but investigations were made thoroughly."
The inquest continues.
