    Oxford United's head coach Michael Appleton has told the club's players he is leaving.

    It's thought a deal to make him Leicester City's assistant manager could be confirmed in the next 24 hours.

    Michael Appleton held talks with Oxford's owner Darryl Eales on Friday but could not be persuaded to turn down the offer from Leicester.

    He then called players over the weekend to inform them of his decision.

    A man in his 50s suffered serious injuries in the park near Bridgeside Close at about 21:15 BST.

    A 19-year-old man from Portsmouth has been charged with a number of offences including causing grievous bodily harm and dangerous driving.

    A man has been charged over a stabbing in Poole on Friday.

    A man in his 30s was airlifted to hospital with serious injuries following the incident in the Nuffield Industrial Estate at lunchtime. His condition is not life-threatening.

    A 27-year-old man from Swanage has been charged with wounding with intent, aggravated vehicle taking, possession of an offensive weapon and possession of cannabis.

    He is due in court later.

    An investigation is under way after a woman was raped shortly after leaving a nightclub in Oxford early on Sunday.

    Officers said she left at the same time as a man who then took her into a nearby alleyway and raped her.

    It happened at about 02:00 BST on Sunday, and police are looking for a man who's described as Asian, skinny and in his early 20s.

    Det Insp Steve Raffield said he would like to hear from anyone who saw him in Atik nightclub or as he left.

    Police are asking for witnesses and anyone with information to come forward after a suspicious fire near Bournemouth beach at the weekend.

    Beach-goers saw a "massive fire" spread quickly up East Cliff on Bournemouth beach at about 15:30 BST on Saturday.

    Pictures posted on social media showed yellow smoke rising from the undergrowth, apparently before the fire took hold.
