  1. M4 crash: 'Severe congestion both ways'published at 15:24 British Summer Time 11 October 2018

    Thames Valley Police has released a statement about the crash, which happened at about 12:20 and involved two heavy goods vehicles and a minibus.

    "There is currently severe congestion both ways. The westbound carriageway was temporarily closed to allow the air ambulance access to the scene and has since reopened.

    "The eastbound carriageway is likely to be closed for a significant amount of time and officers are working to turn affected motorists around.

    "Please remain in your vehicles if you are stuck in the traffic as emergency services require access to the M4."

  10. Minibus and two lorries in M4 crashpublished at 13:51 British Summer Time 11 October 2018

    The M4 is closed eastbound in Berkshire following an accident involving a minibus and two lorries.

    Police have closed the motorway between J14 (Hungerford) and J13 (Chieveley).

    The air ambulance is en-route, with westbound traffic held to enable the ambulance to land on the carriageway.

    Early reports suggest the eastbound carriageway could remain closed until evening rush hour.

    They beat Kings Lynn 92-88 on aggregate after the Premiership final second leg.

    After the race, promoter Matt Ford said he is putting the club up for sale.

    Thames Valley Police has released CCTV images of two people they would like to speak to following a theft in Reading.

    A 25-year-old woman had her car broken into in Churchward Walk, Reading, at around 15:40 BST on Tuesday 6 September.

    Her handbag was taken from the car and a credit card from the bag was subsequently used by the offenders.

    “We would like to speak to the individuals in the CCTV images as we believe they may have vital information about the theft," PC Mike Wray said.

    The number of cases of rogue traders targeting elderly people in West Berkshire, Wokingham and Bracknell has almost doubled.

    More than 90 cases were reported in the six months since April, nearly twice as many as during the same period last year.

    In that time, residents were duped out of more than £160,000.
