  4. Pair left with 'serious injuries' as car leaves roadpublished at 13:51 British Summer Time 16 October 2018

Two drivers were left with "serious injuries" after two-car collision in Oxfordshire, where one car left the road and came to a stop in a neighbouring field.

The pair were cut free from their cars by crews from Oxfordshrie Fire and Rescue on Watlington Road, Lewknor, and taken to hospital with what the service described as "serious injuries".

Station Manager Andy Ford said the change in weather conditions meant rain can potentially result in "slippery conditions caused by oil and debris being brought to the surface of the road".

A police investigation has begun into the cause of the crash.

Oxford City councillors originally turned down the plans over concerns about the green belt and cycling safety, but their decision was reversed on Monday night.
