Residents claim lorries ignored warning signs around collapsed bridgepublished at 08:49 British Summer Time 27 May 2016
Local residents are claiming lorries carrying stone for road resurfacing ignored warning signs around a 200-year-old bridge which collapsed.
The Grade II listed Eastham Bridge near Tenbury Wells collapsed on Tuesday just as a school bus was about to cross it.
Quote MessageAll day Monday and all morning Tuesday we were having stone lorries, 25 tonners, coming up this road - it says unsuitable for lorries."
Barry Gutteridge, Resident
Worcestershire County Council say they are "aware that lorries were in the area recently because of highways work near Tenbury".
The council say until an investigation is complete it would be wrong for them to speculate.
