    Six teams have braved the heat for a street cricket match in Angel Place, Worcester.

  10. Pershore the hottest place in the countrypublished at 16:26 British Summer Time 19 July 2016

    Pershore is the hottest place in the country.

    The Met Office says the Worcestershire town has beaten Heathrow in terms of temperatures with 33.4C (92.12F).

    That means it's hotter there than in Algiers (26C/77F),  Athens (30C/86F) and almost hotter than Islamabad (34C/93F).

    And the pigs at Pershore College have been fed ice lollies to keep them cool.

    Pershore is a record-breaking town in terms of the weather.

    Nine years ago, in July 2007 Worcestershire got the highest rainfall for any calendar month, with the station at Pershore College recording 252mm of precipitation.

  11. Rail disruption between Birmingham and Redditchpublished at 16:24 British Summer Time 19 July 2016

    signalling problem, external between Birmingham New Street and Redditch is disrupting trains between these stations, Network Rail, external reports.

    Trains may be cancelled or delayed.

    Buses have been requested to run between Kings Norton and Redditch.

    Disruption expected until 19:00.

    A full-time official to promote disability sport in the city could be appointed by the council.

    The city council says it wants to build on "Worcester’s growing reputation as one of the UK’s best cities for disability sport".

    The council says it wants to promote the city's accessible facilities, including the University of Worcester Arena (pictured), which last year hosted the European Wheelchair Basketball Championships.

  15. Cab window cracked as brick thrown at trainpublished at 14:47 British Summer Time 19 July 2016

    A brick thrown from a footbridge hit a high-speed train travelling from London to Hereford.

    British Transport Police say brick was thrown from a footbridge leading off Brockhill Lane, Norton (pictured), Worcester during the evening of Friday, 15 July.

    The impact resulted in the driver’s cab window cracking and the train being taken out of service, but no-one was injured.
