    A repair cafe in Malvern has helped about 1,500 people to mend some of their broken "stuff", since it was founded in December 2012.

    Volunteers at the Malvern Hills Repair Cafe , externalhave assessed more than 2,200 household and personal items and where they can, helped their owners to fix them. 

    About 50 people attend each month, not only to get help, but also to meet with like-minded people and to enjoy a coffee and make new friends.

    Work is due to begin today on a new school in Malvern, in response to a growing demand for places.

    Malvern Vale Primary will be built on land next to Malvern Vale Community Centre, in Swineyard Road.

    It will be a sister school to Somers Park School nearby, sharing its head teacher, admin staff and curriculum, with both supported by Mercian Educational Trust.

    A 37-year-old man has been assaulted at his home in Bromsgrove by two robbers, external, police say.

    The man, from the Tardebigge area, opened his door at 06:50 on 23 January after hearing noises outside. 

    He was confronted by two men in high visibility clothing who assaulted him and then stole his car keys, cash and jewellery. 

    The BMW series seven car, which was on the drive at the time, was not stolen.

    A year after the former Malvern College student Roger Gower was killed in Africa by elephant poachers, his family say they're planning a big year of fundraising.

    Mr Gower was piloting a helicopter tracking criminals in Tanzania when he was shot and killed. 

    The Roger Gower Memorial Fund, which has already raised more than £250,000, has been renamed , externalBorn to Fly, external to mark the first anniversary of his death.

    Worcester City have confirmed their manager Carl Heeley has stepped down from the post, external.

    The announcement brings to an end a 22-year association with the club for Heeley, who said the time had come for him to change the focus of his life from football to spending more time with his young family.

    The club say they fully respect and appreciate Carl’s decision and he leaves with their "sincere gratitude for the outstanding commitment he and his family have dedicated to the club over a long period of time".

    An elderly man with dementia, who was found wandering around Hereford 15 months ago, was deliberately abandoned here by his American family.

    Roger Curry didn't know who he was, why he was in the city or how he'd got there and his appearance sparked an international hunt to discover his identity. 

    Following a BBC appeal, he was identified from an American high school yearbook as Earl Roger Curry, from Los Angeles, and a Panorama team have confirmed he was abandoned here by his family. 

    Roger is now being cared for by the authorities in Los Angeles.
