    Police in Hereford are hoping to speak to two youths after an attempt to steal a bicycle from outside council offices.

    Two unknown offenders are believed to have attempted to steal a white Gazelle bicycle from a rack in Plough Lane at about 14:30 on 1 December, police say. 

    The offenders left when they were challenged by staff, leaving behind a blue and red Concept mountain bike. 

  7. Four dogs shot for worrying livestock last yearpublished at 17:34 Greenwich Mean Time 30 January 2017

    Four dogs were shot for attacking or killing farm animals in Shropshire, Herefordshire and Worcestershire last year, West Mercia Police says, external.

    The force recorded 11 reports of livestock being chased in 2016, 40 incidents of dogs killing farm animals and 11 other attacks.

    Three children have helped in a sod-cutting ceremony in Malvern to mark the start of building work on a new school for the town.

    Malvern Vale Primary will accomodate up to 210 pupils and will share a head teacher and other resources with its sister school, Somers Park. 

    The new school in Swineyard Road is in response to a growing demand for places.

    - Worcestershire's new railway station has moved a step closer to being built after the Department for Transport approved the plans 

  10. Hospice support for bereaved 'incredibly helpful'published at 17:05 Greenwich Mean Time 30 January 2017

    The number of people going to a Worcestershire hospice for support after the death of a loved one has risen by 78% in the past year.

    A total of 1,611 people turned to St Richard's Hospice, Worcester, in 2016 - up from 987 the year before. 

    The charity provides support through counselling, social work, citizens advice and group work. 

    Sheila Harrington says the group work was incredibly helpful to her.

    The MP for Mid Worcestershire Nigel Huddleston says he doesn't think cancelling Donald Trump's state visit to the UK would be the right move. 

    Downing Street says calling off the engagement isn't an option, in spite of a petition signed by more than a million people.

    Mr Trump has again insisted the restrictions banning visitors to the US from seven, mainly Muslim countries, have been implemented with "few problems" and are necessary to tackle terrorism.   

  14. Increase in speed-related collisionspublished at 16:00 Greenwich Mean Time 30 January 2017

    Last year there were 147 traffic collisions in Shropshire, Herefordshire and Worcestershire which the police say, external were at least partially caused by speeding.

    Seven of those collisions were fatal - that's 16 more collisions than in 2015 and the highest number for five years.

    The force has also revealed the highest speed recorded in the region last year was 154mph (248kmph).

    A group of teenagers have been attacked and threatened by a gang of men, external in Ross-on-Wye, police say.

    The five youths were approached by three men demanding money near the Shell filling station, in Whitecross Road, at 20:45 on 25 January. 

    When they refused to hand over any cash, one of the teenagers was grabbed around the throat and another was pushed into a parked car. 

    The men eventually left the scene empty handed.

    Bromsgrove Sporting will have home advantage for their FA Vase quarter-final tie in which they will host Buckland Athletic. 

    Buckland play their league football in the Western League Premier Division - the same league as Bristol Manor Farm, who Sporting beat in Saturday's fifth-round tie.

    The tie will take place on Saturday 18 February - the winner will get £3,375 in prize money.
