    Three people, including two children, have been taken to hospital following a collision in Llangrove in Herefordshire, the ambulance service say.

    It happened at about 08:00 and involved two cars.

    A seven-year-old boy and 11-year-old girl were taken to Hereford County Hospital suffering from head and chest injuries and back pain.

    A girl caught up in the crowd running out of the Manchester Arena after a suicide attack said she was "scared and confused" as she was in the crush to escape.

    Lydia Watkins says she and her daughter Madison, from Worcester, were caught up in "a sea of people running towards us shouting 'run, run,run'".

    A "new and particularly dangerous drug", similar to heroin but "many times more potent" has been seized in a police raid.

    West Mercia Police say they seized what they believe to be "a controlled substance, possibly Fentanyl", which they describe as "an extremely potent" synthetic painkiller.

    A mother who had taken her daughter to the Ariana Grande concert in Manchester says there was "chaos" in the aftermath of the bomb going off, as they were caught up in the stampede to get out of the venue.

    Lydia Watkins and daughter Madison, from Worcester, were caught up in a stampede to get out of the venue.

    She said she can't believe anyone could target an audience made up of mothers and their daughters.

    Two former munitions workers were the guests of honour as a special tree was planted at County Hall in Worcester yesterday.

    A black pear tree and a plaque were unveiled in memory of the hundreds of people who worked in the bullet factory at Blackpole in the city during both world wars.

    BBC Hereford & Worcester has been campaigning for a national honour for munitions workers since January.

    The Woodland Trust says it is closing down one of its Worcestershire sites because of anti-social behaviour.

    The charity says despite numerous campaigns, Uffmoor Wood near Romsley has a growing problem with violent and out of control dogs, drug use and sexual activity, and many of its members say they feel "unsafe".

    A woman has been stabbed after stopping to help a man she saw lying in the road, external.

    She was driving along Lea End Lane in Alvechurch, Worcestershire when she came across the man.

    When she got out of her car to help she was attacked by a second man and stabbed.

    She managed to drive away but was later taken to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham with stab wounds which are not life-threatening.

    Police are appealing for witnesses to the incident, which happened at about 15.20 Wednesday, 17 May.

    Ambulance crews from the West Midlands were sent into the north west of England last night in the wake of last night's suicide attack at Manchester Arena.

    Crews provided support to the North West Ambulance Service while they dealt with the incident, West Midlands Ambulance Service said.

    "These resources have now been stood down and returned to their normal operating areas," a spokesman said.

  16. Massive mound of waste dumped in country landpublished at 08:44 British Summer Time 23 May 2017

    About 20 tonnes of waste has been dumped on land off a country lane in Worcestershire.

    The pile, estimated to be about 15ft (4.6m) high, was found by a press photographer out taking pictures of the sunset on Sunday in Frankley.

    Bromsgrove District Council says the rubbish has been there for a few weeks and it's offered to help the landowner move it.
