    A bride from Herefordshire is pleading for any information which might help her recover gifts that were stolen from her wedding. 

    Zara Owens married her fiance William in Hampshire on Saturday, but discovered on Monday that many of her wedding presents had been stolen from a car parked at the venue.

    Zara says many of the presents had yet to be opened.

    A Herefordshire farmer says thousands of farms will go bust unless the government takes the issue of TB seriously. 

    Michael Brown, from Aymestry, will get less than £2,000 in compensation after his prize-winning Charolais cow tested positive for TB but he says she's worth more than £15,000.

    He wants the disease controlled for the good of badgers, cattle and all animals.

  3. Munitions workers memorial: The 'canary girls'published at 09:20 British Summer Time 18 April 2017

    A BBC Hereford &Worcester campaign has helped to finally secure a national memorial for the munitions workers of World War One and World War Two.

    They will get a statue at the National Memorial Arboretum in Staffordshire, once £250,000 has been raised to pay for it.

  4. Cycle race organisers asked about disruption to residents and businessespublished at 09:00 British Summer Time 18 April 2017

    The organisers of a controversial cycling race have a "long way" to go before their event can go ahead, Worcestershire County Council say.

    The council have now written to the CSM Active, the company behind Velo Birmingham, external, and asked them to provide information about how they will reduce the impact of the race on businesses and residents, when it passes through parts of Herefordshire and Worcestershire.

    The 100-mile (160km) race is due to take place in September.

    General entries have already sold out, and more than 15,000 riders could take part, the organisers predict.

  5. Memorial to honour munitions workerspublished at 08:40 British Summer Time 18 April 2017

    Britain's munitions workers are to be honoured with a statue at the National Memorial Arboretum, thanks to a campaign run by BBC Hereford & Worcester. 

    More than a million people worked in terrible conditions to supply shells, bombs and bullets for the allied troops, including at factories in Rotherwas in Hereford, and Blackpole in Worcester.

    Hundreds were killed by explosives or suffered from diseases caused by the chemicals they were handling. 

    Rob Flello MP, the chairman of the parliamentary munitions group, says they need to raise £250,000 for the statue and plinth.

  12. Cash machine raid: Shop and business 'devastated' says ownerpublished at 18:00 British Summer Time 13 April 2017

    The owner of a Malvern post office is counting the cost today after ram raiders drove a JCB into her shop and stole a cash machine. 

    The police are linking the raid on the post office in Barnards Green with two other similar thefts recently in Bromyard and Kempsey.

    The owner, Jenny Cain, says she first heard about it when her deputy knocked on her front door shortly after 06:00.

    Luctonians have confirmed the club’s director of rugby, Alex Davidson, is to leave Mortimer Park at the end of the season. 

    Davidson has been with the north Herefordshire club for seven years and has played a major part in ensuring they have retained their National Two North status.

    Lucs’ chairman, Simon Whiteman, said Davidson had done a fantastic job during his tenure and the club would always owe him "a great debt of gratitude".

  18. 'Stinger' used by police to stop car on M5published at 17:18 British Summer Time 13 April 2017

    A "stinger" device has been used to stop a car on the M5 which was believed to have been stolen during a burglary on the Wirral in Merseyside, police say.

    Motorway police started to pursue the car just outside Worcester at 06:00 this morning as it travelled northbound on the M5.

    West Midlands Police say that despite have its tyres deflated by the stinger the car still continued around the junction 2 roundabout at Oldbury (pictured) and veered the wrong way down the southbound slip road before officers were able to bring it to a halt.

    Police say a 27-year-old man from Liverpool was arrested on suspicion of burglary, dangerous driving and failing to stop for police.

    A 24-year-old man who was a passenger, also from Liverpool, was arrested on suspicion of burglary.

    A 25-year-old man, also a passenger in the vehicle, was arrested but taken to hospital with minor injuries and will be questioned later, a spokesman says.

    Worcestershire's A&E departments have once again failed to meet national waiting time targets with one in every three patients (65.8%) waiting more than four hours.

    The figures for February, from NHS England, show that at the major A&E departments in Worcestershire 2,958 patients waited for more than the four-hour target.

    Fifty-two patients had to wait more than 12 hours from the decision to admit them to hospital to when they were actually admitted.

    In Herefordshire, just over 75% of patients, a total of 965 people, had to wait in A&E for more than the four hour target.
