    Bromsgrove Sporting's manager Paul Smith says he felt a result such as Saturday's had been on the cards for some time. 

    Sporting beat visiting Pelsall Villa 10-0 at the Victoria Ground to further strengthen their grip on the Midland League first division title race.

  2. Child of Our Time: Worcestershire teenager sees life 'flash before her eyes' published at 12:39 British Summer Time 3 April 2017

    A Worcestershire teenager will see some of the highlights of her life played out on television tonight as part of the Child of Our Time series

    Eve Scarborough, from Bewdley, has been part of the ground-breaking show that started following 25 babies born in 2000. 

    The presenter Robert Winston says he's very grateful to have been able to see the children develop.

    Three women have escaped serious injury after their car crashed over a bridge in Redditch and came to rest in some trees, , external West Midlands Ambulance Service says.

    All three women managed to get out of the vehicle themselves after the accident on Ravensbank Drive at 06:35 on Sunday morning.

    The women were all immobilised before being taken to the Alexandra Hospital in Redditch.

  5. Drone incidents 'go through the roof'published at 11:41 British Summer Time 3 April 2017

    The number of incidents reported to West Mercia Police involving drones has increased by more than 20 times in the past two years. 

    The police recorded eight incidents in 2014, but that rose to 175 in 2016 - the fourth highest number in the UK and higher than in the West Midlands and London.

    Incidents recorded by forces across the country include rows between neighbours, prison smuggling and snooping fears.  

  6. Extreme litter pick on climbing rockspublished at 11:20 British Summer Time 3 April 2017

    Dozens of climbers have been taking part in an extreme litter pick - hundreds of feet above the ground on the crags and cliffs at Symonds Yat .

    They have been removing litter, checking safety pegs and removing loose rock and invasive plants.

    The famous crags in the Forest of Dean are owned by the Forestry Commission.

    A Hereford man whose wife has been deported to the Philippines says he plans to take legal action against the Home Office over her treatment. 

    Marinel Bristow came to live in the UK in 2013 after dozens of her friends and relatives were killed by a typhoon.

    Her application to stay in the country was rejected because her husband Rob doesn't earn enough money and she flew back to Manila at the weekend.

  9. Worcestershire cricketers beaten in warm-up matchpublished at 10:19 British Summer Time 3 April 2017

    Worcestershire were beaten by six wickets by Somerset in their 50-over warm-up match at Taunton Vale. 

    Josh Tongue top scored with 33 as Worcester made 155 all out.

    New international signing John Hastings was dismissed for 7 on his Worcestershire debut.

    People living in homes in Hereford that are to be demolished, say leaving them will tear their lives apart. 

    Forty one bungalows in Beattie Avenue are being knocked down next year as part of a £30m refurbishment of the Oval estate.

    Herefordshire Housing says the prefabs are now 60 years old and not suitable for their tenants.  

    Val's husband David is seriously ill with cancer - she says worrying about the move is having a huge impact on them.

    On Friday night Worcester Wolves produced one of their most extraordinary performances of their BBL history in beating Newcastle Eagles 126-97 at the University Arena.

  13. Police given new powers to combat groomingpublished at 09:01 British Summer Time 3 April 2017

    Police have new powers from today to tackle child sexual abuse and arrest people for online grooming. 

    From today they can arrest anyone aged 18 or older who sends a sexual message to a child.

    Home Office figures say the number of cases where groomers have met children across the West Mercia area has doubled in the last five years. 

    Officers recorded 22 offences in the year up to last March compared with 11 the year before.

    The NSPCC says the government has "finally listened" to its pressure to bring in a new anti-grooming law.
