Worcestershire councillors have voted to increase their basic allowance by 2%, and the leader's by 10%.
Councillors "consumables allowance", which covers costs like printing and stationary, have been halved, which means there's been a small cut overall to what councillors with no extra resposibilities can claim.
A double whammy as the driver wasn't wearing a seat belt either.

Harry Potter's favourite game of Quidditch will be played competitively at Upton-upon-Severn rugby club on Saturday.

One of the main routes through Herefordshire will be closed for a month while the road is strengthened to protect an electricity cable laid underneath it.
Western Power Distribution (WPD) say the work needs to be carried out on on the A438 between the bridge over the River Lugg (pictured) to the west of Lugwardine and Netherwood Lane.
The company says the work is necessary to protect a cable which supplies 8,000 homes in Hereford.
Contractors working on behalf of WPD will be operating between 08:00 and 20:00, seven days a week, to complete the work within the timescales.
The work will begin on 31 July and run until 25 August.

Hundreds of schoolchildren are getting a taste of open water by outdoor swimming this week, in an effort to keep them safe over the summer holidays.
The Swimsafe initiative, external usually takes place near the coast, but for the first time ever it's being done in Birmingham's Salford Park., external
It involves pupils from across the Midlands, who are being taught the perils of the open water such as cold water shock and currents.
The links between Worcester and a French village devastated during World War One are about to be the subject of a lottery-funded exhibition.
Worcester "adopted" the village of Gouzeaucourt, which was left in ruins by the fighting.
Worcester Twinning Association has been awarded a grant of £10,000 from the Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF) to research and stage the display, which runs from 22 to 29 July.
The exhibition will include information about one of the tanks that took part in the fighting.
Worcester also sent a wind pump to the village so that its water supply could be restored - the pump is still in place.

An attempt to get rid of one of Worcestershire's most highly paid public-sector jobs has been defeated.
This morning, the county council voted to continue the position of chief executive - with a salary of more than £150,000.
A move by Labour to remove the top job, and replace it with a position paying £50,000 less, was defeated.
Fans of the Harry Potter books will be able to watch a real life game of Quidditch being played in Upton-upon-Severn.
The Quidditch Premier League will be hosting one of its fixtures at Upton Rugby Club on Saturday, with the first game starting at 10:00 and the last at 15:00.
Although teams can't actually take to the air on broomsticks, as they do in the books, Quidditch has developed into its own sport, with 20,000 competing international players, 25 competing countries, and an international rulebook.
There are teams of 21, with seven players per team on the field at any one time, with a maximum of four from any one gender.
Admission to the event is free.
A solicitors in Kidderminster has been closed by a regulatory body which said it has "reason to suspect dishonesty".
The Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) has ordered that Prescotts, in Church Street, should close, external, and has appointed an "intervening agent" to look after the firm's clients.
The regulator says there is reason to suspect dishonesty on the part of Richard Prescott in connection with his practice as a solicitor, and that he has failed to comply with rules made by the SRA.
It says that when it intervenes it is to "protect client's interests and money, in the public interest".
This is "a protective measure, and does not necessarily mean we have made any findings against a regulated firm," the SRA say.
The regulator will take charge of all documents, papers and money held by the firm.
Nobody from the firm has so far been available for comment.
An investigation by the AA has found that Herefordshire Council has reduced its road maintenance budget by £1m.
Three out of every five local authorities are spending less this year on maintaining their roads, the organisation found.
In Worcestershire this year, the county council has increased spending by £1.8m to £32m.
Herefordshire Council said in a statement it has invested an additional £20m of capital over and above its normal annual budgets to carry out major maintenance of the minor road network.
It says it is delivering "a planned and proactive programme of works to maintain our road assets rather than expensive reactive maintenance and ‘chasing potholes’".
