"There's quite a few people using wheelchairs so they will obviously need a lot of assistance to get out, and then there are quite a lot of people who are more mobile, but with dementia, so they're going to be very confused by what's going on."

She said her 88-year-old mum was expected to be brought out by fire rescue crews.

"She might either quite enjoy being brought out by the fire crew or perhaps be a bit scared, I don't know which really.

"She'll perhaps think back to the days of the war and being in the Land Army and might find it quite exciting, who knows.

"They're in good hands, there's lots of emergency services here waiting to get people evacuated so I feel confident that they're going to keep [her] safe and look after her needs."
