    Katy Austin
    BBC Look North, Business Correspondent

An East Yorkshire biofuel plant is to stop production "for the foreseeable future", the company which runs it has confirmed.

    Vivergo plant

Vivergo, which makes fuel from wheat, halted production at its plant at Saltend, near Hull, last month, blaming government policy.

The company wants the government to increase the proportion of bio-ethanol which is mixed into petrol, a mixture called E10.

It says the uncertainty over whether that will happen means 150 jobs are at risk.

The Department for Transport says it's working with the industry and motoring groups to consider the issues around a potential introduction of E10 and the role that government can play in this.
