    Victims of the disgraced Leeds broadcaster and DJ Jimmy Savile broke their silence in a BBC documentary last night called Abused: The Untold Story.

    Liz Dux, a solicitor representing dozens of Savile's victims, has told BBC Radio Leeds their courage in coming forward is "astonishing".

    Congratulations to our very own boxing legend and reigning Olympic champion Nicola Adams.

    She started qualification for Rio 2016 with a comfortable victory at the European qualifying tournament.

    Nicola beat Iulia Coroli of Moldova via unanimous decision in Turkey.

    She now faces France's Sarah Ourahmoune in the last eight on Wednesday and must reach the final to book her place in Brazil at the first attempt.

  4. Lindsay Rimer death: New leads with DNA breakthroughpublished at 08:32 British Summer Time 12 April 2016

    New forensic leads are being investigated in connection with the death of a schoolgirl 21 years ago.

    The body of 13-year-old Lindsay Rimer was found in the Rochdale Canal five months after she disappeared in Hebden Bridge in November 1994.

    Her killer has never been found and West Yorkshire Police are treating the death as murder.

    The force said a new DNA profile had been identified, which it hoped would lead them to identify the killer.

    Not the best looking day today across Yorkshire, with a few thick mist and fog patches. 

    Outbreaks of rain will spread northwards throughout the morning, these will mainly be light and patchy.
