    A former Castleford Tigers player has put himself on auction site eBay in order to find a new club.

    Australian rugby league player Ryan McGoldrick is currently a free agent after a side he signed for in New South Wales folded.

    "If a really feasible option did come up and it worked out, then I will go do it," the 35-year-old told BBC Sport.

    His listing, external appeared on Tuesday and describes a "1981 antique rugby league player" who is "well maintained" and comes "with a full service history".

    An employment tribunal has heard how Leeds United's club secretary said there'd be a "'conflict of interest" if Lucy Ward stayed at the club when her partner Neil Redfearn had left. 

  3. Mining museum's 'delight' at record visitor numberspublished at 13:57 British Summer Time 13 April 2016

    Visitor numbers at the Wakefield-based National Coal Mining Museum for England were higher last year than at any time since it opened in 1988, it's been revealed.

    The museum, in Crofton, saw 138,291 people visit throughout last year, an increase of 16% from 2014-15.

    According to its website, external, the museum, "aims to keep coal mining alive by collecting and preserving the industry's rich heritage".

    David Hinchliffe, chair of the museum's board of trustees, says everyone there is "extremely delighted" with the rise in visitor numbers and pays tribute to the "hard-working staff and volunteers who've made this fantastic achievement possible".

    Yorkshire's Jonny Bairstow as been chosen among Wisden's five Cricketers of the Year.

    Bradford-born Bairstow scored 1,108 runs in Yorkshire's County Championship victory and also helped England win the Ashes.  

    Fellow 2015 Ashes winner Ben Stokes, New Zealanders Brendon McCullum and Kane Williamson and new Australia captain Steve Smith are also included.

  6. Lily Brooke Davis headstone appeal: Brighouse man steps in to foot the billpublished at 13:07 British Summer Time 13 April 2016

    More on the story of six-year-old Lily Brooke Davis, from Bradford, who died after being hit by a Land Rover near her home in 2014.

    Her mum, Jenna, has never been able to afford a headstone for her daughter and earlier appealed on BBC Radio Leeds for help.

    The radio station's now received a call from Steve Gough in Brighouse who's offered to help Jenna with the cost of a headstone for Lily.

    Steve has a charity set up in memory of his daughter Naomi, external who was killed in Halifax in 2007 in a road traffic accident.

    The murder of a young Bradford mother who disappeared exactly 15 years today is to be reviewed by West Yorkshire Police's Cold Case Investigation Team, external.

    Rebecca Hall, who had a four-month-old child, went missing from her home at Lydford House in the Little Horton area of Bradford just after 22:00 on 13 April 2001.

    Rebecca's body was found in an alleyway in Thornton Street, Bradford, two weeks later. She had been viciously assaulted.

    West Yorkshire Police has confirmed its Cold Case team will review her case using advances in forensic science to try and finally identify who was responsible for her death.

    An update for you on Leeds United director Edoardo Cellino, who was last week charged by the Football Association over comments made on social media.

    I understand that Mr Cellino, the son of United owner Massimo Cellino, has denied the FA's charge of posting offensive messages.

    His denial means the matter will go before an Independent Regulatory Commission. 

    A date for the hearing is yet to be set.

    Guiseley have taken a huge stride towards National League safety.

    It was all thanks to two first half goals last night from Adam Boyes and one from Oli Johnson which saw them overcome Wrexham 3-1 at Nethermoor. 

    They are now five points clear of the dropzone ahead of their trip to Macclesfield.

  12. Watch: Leeds climbers study effects of high altitude in Himalayaspublished at 11:37 British Summer Time 13 April 2016

    Leeds Beckett University researchers are spending three months in the Himalayas to study the effects of altitude on military climbers.  

    They're monitoring the Himalayan peak Dhaulagiri's ascent via a chip implanted in each members' body.

    Its summit is at 8,167m (26,794t). Beyond 8,000m (26,246ft) climbers enter the oxygen-starved realm known as the "death zone".

    In June 2014, six-year-old Lily Brooke Davis was knocked down just a short distance from her home in Bradford. She sadly died from her injuries. 

    Her mum, Jenna, has never been able to afford to give Lily a headstone, and it's one thing she says she desperately wants to do for her little girl.

    Jenna's now asking for help with fundraising to get Lily's grave properly marked and this is what she's told me:

    Banners will be held high in Wakefield later today when former miners take a multimillion-pound pension campaign to Wakefield Council chamber.

    The ex-pitmen claim the money's a surplus on their pensions that's built up over more than 20 years, and they're asking the government to pay it back.

    The government says it's given considerable financial support to the mining industry to date and continues to guarantee that pensions will be paid.

    Former Education and Welfare officer Lucy Ward has told the tribunal she was dismissed from the club as she was in a relationship with former head coach Neil Redfearn.

    She is claiming unfair dismissal and sex discrimination at the hearing.

    The club denies any improper conduct and claims she was was dismissed for exceeding her annual leave entitlement.
